HOW TO GET WISDOM

Ask GOD for Wisdom.

“If any of you lacks Wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

JAMES 1:5

That is worth repeating:

Ask God for Wisdom:

For the Lord gives Wisdom

PROVERBS 2:6

The first step is simple.

Just ask.

Not flippantly.

Not in passing.

Not casually…

Nor in a rush…

Ask sincerely.

Heartfelt.

Fervently.

Ask in faith.

In trust.

Ask with humility.

With hunger for righteousness.

Believe that GOD is Generous.

His Wisdom is Abundant.

Overflowing.

Available.

If you ask…

He will give.

Many want quick answers.

Few want Wisdom.

Wisdom takes time.

Stillness…

Listening…

Correction…

It is not given to the proud.

It is not given to the lazy.

It is not given to the greedy.

It is treasured by the humble.

It is treasured by the faithful.

It is treasured by the righteous.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

PROVERBS 9:10

God’s Wisdom starts with reverence.

It grows with obedience.

Do you fear Him?

Do you want to know Him?

Do you listen when He speaks?

Where is God guiding your growth?
What should you study?
What knowledge honours Him?

Growth… Focus… Application…

INTERESTS — EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH
Which hobbies renew your spirit?
Which ones steal your time?

Rest… Joy… Renewal…

FAMILY — EMOTIONAL HEALTH
How do you handle conflict?
Love well?
Lead wisely?

Love… Patience… Boundaries…

SOCIAL — EMOTIONAL HEALTH
Who do you allow into your life?
Are your friendships rooted in truth?

Discernment… Loyalty… Truth…

WHAT IS GOD’S WISDOM?

For the Lord gives Wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

PROVERBS 2:6

God’s wisdom is not just knowledge.
It is truth applied.

It is understanding what is right in God’s eyes…
and then doing it.

It is never selfish.
Never rushed.
Never used for personal gain or pride.

The wisdom of God brings clarity.

Conviction.

Correction

Direction.

Wisdom is spiritual.
It is rooted in God’s nature.
You cannot separate godly wisdom from a surrendered heart.

You are not wise because you know much.
You are wise because you know Him.

This is His wisdom.
Not man’s.
Not the world’s.

It is wisdom that flows from His mouth…
So if you want it, stay close to His Word.

FALSE WISDOM

Such “Wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

JAMES 3:15

Not all wisdom is godly.

The world promotes intellectualism…

Success strategies…

Influence formulas…

The wisdom of this world is:

Self – serving

Ambitious

Short-sighted

Rooted in pride.

But heaven is not impressed.

Worldly Wisdom will tell you:

Get ahead.

Protect yourself.

Do what feels rIght.

Godly Wisdom says:

Fear the Lord.

Obey His Word.

Die to Self.

HEAVENLY WISDOM

But the Wsidom that comes from heaven is first if all pure, the peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy adn good fruit, impartial and sincere.

JAMES 3:17

This wisdom is pure.
Not manipulative.
Not defensive.

It loves peace.
Yields when needed.
Overflows with mercy.
Bears fruit.
Seeks no favourites.
Stands in truth.

PURE

PEACE-LOVING

CONSIDERATE

SUBMISSIVE

FULL OF MERCY

BEARING FRUIT

IMPARTIAL

SINCERE

HOW TO GAIN GODLY WISDOM

• Ask God sincerely
• Study the Word
• Meditate on Scripture
• Observe His patterns in creation
• Obey His principles
• Heed godly counsel
• Associate with the wise

Wisdom is a process.

Wisdom is also a gift.

GOD is not withholding it.

But we must want it.

REMEMBER

God wants to give you wisdom.
Not reluctantly…
Generously.
Freely.
Without rebuke.

Ask…
Believe…
Apply…
Live it out.

So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of Wisdom.

PSALM 90:12
