Who cares if people hate you?

Depends who it is.

If it’s your mum…

You’ve got a problem.

But Jesus was perfect and they killed him.

How did Jesus cope with the world’s hatred?

Did he draw upon his inner strength?

Focus on his self-worth?

Seek out his true friends?

No, no, no.

Jesus turned to God.

His father.

At the lowest point in his life, when Jesus knew the world hated him, and were headed to kill him…

He prayed to God the Father.

39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

MATTHEW 26:39

The world is lying to you

What does this post-Christian, secular, evil, pagan, Satanic world tell you to do about haters, trolls and those who wish you ill?

The advice from Artificial Intelligence is:

It’s natural to care about what others think of us. However, focusing solely on external validation can be detrimental to your well-being. Here’s why it’s important to cultivate inner peace and self-acceptance, even when faced with negativity:

  • Your Worth is Intrinsic: Your value as a human being is not determined by the opinions of others. You are inherently worthy of love and respect.
  • Focus on Your Values: When you align your actions with your values and beliefs, you gain inner strength and confidence that transcends external criticism.
  • Healthy Relationships: True connections are built on mutual respect and understanding, not on the need for external approval.
  • Self-Compassion: Cultivating self-compassion allows you to treat yourself with kindness and understanding, even when facing criticism.
  • Personal Growth: Learning to navigate negativity can be a valuable life lesson, helping you develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and a stronger sense of self.

Let’s debunk this baloney.

Your worth is not intrinsic.

Your worth is based in God.

So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

GENESIS 1:27

We are made in God’s likeness.

We transend all other creation, because God made us like himself.

That is what our value is based upon.

We belong to God.

He made us.

He adopted us.

He loves us.

That is the start and finish of our worth.

Anything else is pure narcissism.

We have no values without God.

All morality comes from God.

Your values are not from within.

Goodness is divine.

Holiness is divine.

In this post-Christian world, it is fashionable to idolise empathy for terrorists, to seek one’s own individual, subjective truth and identity, even if one prefers to be a cat and to justify all evil as being a reaction to the gross unfairness of this world.

Truth is rejected because God is rejected.

Many values lauded are Satanic.

The only true values come from God.

And what does our mighty creator order us to do?

15 “If you love me, keep my commands.

JOHN 14:15

What are God’s commands?

To flee from sin.

What is sin?

Jesus described it thus:

And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

LUKE 7: 20-23

Pray to God to save us from our sinful nature.

You need to be in relationship with God

Without this, life is meaningless.

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

MATTHEW 22: 37-40

Yes we need relationships with others.

Yes God made us to be social creatures.

Yes God commanded us to love each other.

But people are not perfect.

God is.

People will betray you.

God won’t.

People will let you down.

God is ever-faithful.

Repent and seek God’s forgiveness

“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance”

LUKE 5:23

Make things right with God.

He is ready to forgive, even the worst of sins, but we must seek his mercy.

Why?

“But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

LUKE 13:5

It is essential for salvation.

Self-compassion, is self-worship.

Self-compassion is ignoring God’s omnipotent power and grace.

Self-compassion is for fools.

The wise seek out God.

The fool says in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good.

PSALM 53:1

The foolish rely on themselves.

Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.

PROVERBS 28:26

Seek spiritual growth.

Personal growth and the whole self-help movement is a fast track to self-sufficiency, personal autonomy and self-worship.

We do not have the power to improve ourselves.

We do not have the strength to save ourselves.

We do not have the wit to help ourselves.

Only God can save us.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

MATTHEW 19:26

Let us pray.

FATHER GOD SAVE US FROM OUR FOOLISHNESS. FREE US FRON THE EVILS OF THIS WORLD AND LEAD US TO YOUR HOLINESS. HELP US WE PRAY TO SEEK YOUR GUIDANCE AND LOVE IN EVERYTHING. IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME WE PRAY. AMEN.
