How to let God in

HOW TO LET GOD IN

Just stop.

Stop worrying.

Stop thinking.

Stop doing.

Stop.. Stop… Stop.

How?

Tis a refined form of meditation.

First start with your breathing.

Focus on your breath.

Breath in deeply though your nose to the count of 4, hold for 4 seconds, then out through your mouth for 4 seconds.

Do this 3 times.

Whilst focusing on your breath your mind empties. Think only of your breathing.

Repeat the following:

“MY LORD AND MY GOD”

JOHN 20:28

If anxiety attacks… repeat this mantra.

If physical pain overwhelms… repeat this affirmation.

If grief swamps… repeat this prayer.

WHEN LIFE GETS TOO MUCH

Lean on God.

When the pain is too great.

Lean on God.

When people let you down.

Lean on God.

“COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”

MATTHEW 11:28

So many people struggle alone.  They feel life is pointless and depression sinks into their every pore. So many feel worthless and unloved. So many are scared to love. So they close their hearts to others and maybe buy a cat or a dog instead. But… the same as the love of a pet cannot match the love of a human… so the love of others cannot match the love of God.

Feeling lonely is not being alone… it is thinking that no one loves you. Not one single person on this overcrowded planet cares whether you live or die.  Is that you?  Do you feel isolated and let down?  Do you think people are just out to harm you? Do you miss someone soo much that life is just a struggle? There is no joy left to feel and no point in even trying? Even if 5000 people loved you unconditionally they would not fill the gap of the one you lost?

WHERE IS GOD IN ALL THIS?

The loneliness you feel is the big God shaped hole in your heart.

God made us to love him.

Full stop.

Without God there is no love.

So first love God.

God commanded us to love him… not for his sake, but for ours.

JESUS REPLIED: “LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ALL YOUR SOUL AND ALL YOUR MIND.”

MATTHEW 22:37

So maybe try it.

Give your heart to God.

Give God your worries and just let God in.

Allow something wonderful to happen.

For God so loved the world he gave his only son…

“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.”

JOHN 3:16
